  • Facebook

Now in the autumn of his life Ian looks back with fondness at the great experiences he has enjoyed over the past 77 years. His love of music started in his teens. Singing solo in churches then a concert party before progressing to the variety stage where he enjoyed all kinds of music, latterly specialising in Scottish songs. Ian joined Radio Tay as a presenter in 1982 and remained there for 32 years presenting light music and Scottish music shows. He is delighted now to be one of the amazing team here at TD1 and hopes you enjoy listening to his shows.

"Double Scotch" brings you the best of Scottish Dance Music and song featuring the many fine young musicians of today but not forgetting the greats from days gone by, plus a few songs for good measure. You can hear the programme every Sunday at 6pm.

"Melodies For You" is a variety of music with the accent on melody. There's something for every taste from big bands, ballads and light orchestras.
The programme is broadcast on a Sunday morning
at 8am here on TD1.

TD1 Radio was established on 1st December 2008 with the aim of providing more listening choice in the Borders. With local radio and TV services being cut back, we felt it was time to give something back to the Borders by establishing a community led and operated radio station.

A team made up of several unpaid local volunteers with
an interest in radio presenting soon became the sound of TD1 Radio.
After many years of dedication and hard work by the various presenters, TD1 Radio was granted an OFCOM
licence to broadcast locally on FM in 2015.
